The Buhairat Center for Research and African Studies marked its official launch with an online public seminar, “Think Tanks and Research Centers in Africa: Realities and Challenges”, held on Zoom on Saturday, 20 December 2025, at 4:00 PM (Mecca time).
The discussion focused on four themes:
- How think tanks can inform and support policymaking in Africa
- The institutional and funding challenges facing African research centers
- Methodological and knowledge-production challenges on the continent
- The future of think tanks in a shifting international landscape
